Go up by elevator
The usual visit is two lifts. One takes you from the ground to the second floor. A second lift, if your ticket includes it, continues to the summit.

This is the ride almost every elevator ticket includes. The second-floor deck is the main viewpoint: the Seine, Trocadéro, and the Champ de Mars.
The top is not the same cabin. You leave the first lift and board another from the upper level. If your ticket is second-floor only, this is where the ride ends.
Wind can close the top while the second floor stays open. A summit ticket does not guarantee the last lift is running that hour.
The timed slot is for security and the first lift, not a promise that the summit cabin has no wait. Check toureiffel.paris for which lifts are running.
Wheelchairs and strollers use the elevators. The stairs are a different visit and are not the accessible route.
Most of the view people come for is on the second floor. The summit is an extra cabin, higher and more often closed.
Budget time for the transfer, and for a queue at the summit lift, even after you are already inside the tower.
Do I take one elevator to the top?
No. The ground lift goes to the second floor. The summit is another elevator from there, and only if your ticket includes it.
What if the summit elevator is closed?
The second floor often stays open. You still get the main deck. The top cabin runs again only when the operator reopens it.
Is this the step-free visit?
Yes. Elevators are the route for wheelchairs and strollers. The stairs are a different visit.
How long do the lifts take?
The rides themselves are short. Security, and the wait to change for the summit cabin, are the long parts.
An elevator ticket is a timed ride from the ground to the second floor, with an optional second lift to the summit.
It is the default and the step-free way up. It is not the stair climb.
This is an independent briefing of that sequence, not the tower operator.
